Year 8 Boys' Football Team Through to the County Cup Semi-Final

On Monday 29th January, 2024, our Year 8 boys’ football team faced Bishop Ramsey in the County Cup quarter final. We are very proud to report that our team managed to secure a win at the match, beating Bishop Ramsey’s team 4-0. 

Despite drawing 3-3 in an earlier league game, the team approached this match with a new plan, having modified their tactics specifically for this game. The players executed this superbly with Conor scoring the first goal with a delightful top corner finish. Oscar added a second goal, with a long range freekick. At half time, despite the score being 2-0, the team felt they were going to soak up some pressure in the second-half, but Dragos dropped all their fears with another outside the box, top corner finish, bringing the score to 3-0 to RHS. The RHS team, cruising at this point, scored one last goal, with Dragos adding a second to his tally. 

The team will now play either Vyners or Elthorne Park. The team is incredibly excited for the match; if we win the semi-final - it will be the first time RHS has been to a football county cup final since 2018/19!
