Year 10 and Year 11 Trip to Barcelona
Over the October half term break, the RHS MFL faculty led a trip to Barcelona for 37 Year 10 and Year 11 students. Led by Ms Matias, the trip was a jam-packed four days, where students were able to soak up a range of Spanish culture and sights.
First of all the students got to visit an envious range of sights, such as: the city of Tarragona (Unesco World Heritage Site); El Poble Espanyol; La Sagrada Familia; Las Ramblas and the Nou Camp Stadium. Beyond this, students also had the opportunity to sample Spanish cuisine during a Tapas tasting evening.
Rosaleen, Year 11, told us that a highlight of the trip for her was taking part in an Apprentice style activity, which encouraged students to speak Spanish, in order to buy certain items from the list provided. Rosaleen told us: “The activity gave me an insight into Spanish culture and practising our Spanish with friends was exciting.”
Another student who attended the trip, Liiban, Year 11, said: “The trip was eye opening! I loved everything about Barcelona, but especially the Camp Nou and visiting the beach.”
All in all it was a fantastic trip where lots of new friends and memories were made.
Ms Matias said: “What an unforgettable trip! The students soaked up a lot of the Spanish culture and it was a joy to see them use their Spanish in action.”
Thank you to all of the staff who supported our students on the trip. You helped to make the week memorable and exciting throughout. ¡Olé!
