World Book Day

On Thursday 6th March, 2025, we celebrated World Book Day to highlight the importance of reading - both academically and for pleasure.

In the morning, all students took part in a reading focused tutorial, organised by Ms Harkin-Bullen, Second in Charge in English. The tutorials encouraged students to try reading something they might not otherwise encounter, but to show them the breadth of book choice available to them. The other purpose of the tutorials was to show students where they might need to use their reading skills in the wider world beyond education.

Staff also celebrated their love of reading, with our school’s digital signage sharing selfies of staff proudly showing off the cover of their current read. Again, the variety of books being read amongst the staff highlighted to the students there really is a book for everyone!
