Sixth Form Speaker: Mental Health

As the summer exam season approaches, supporting our students' mental health is more important than ever. On Thursday 20th March, 2025, we were delighted to welcome James Peterson, a mental health expert, to speak to Year 13 about maintaining good mental health during the challenging exam season. James delivered an engaging and informative talk, focusing on the importance of making positive choices such as taking regular stress breaks, getting enough sleep, and incorporating exercise into daily routines.

The session provided students with practical strategies to manage stress and maintain their well-being, equipping them with tangible tools they can use in the months ahead. Following the session, students shared how helpful the talk was, with many expressing that they felt better prepared to manage the pressures of exam season.

Mia, Year 13, said: “Preparing for exams can sometimes feel overwhelming, so the talk was really useful, as we came away with practical ideas we could use to help with keeping our cool during exams.”

Looking ahead, we’re excited to welcome James back next month to speak to our Year 12 students, ensuring they also have the support and guidance they need. We understand that the exam period can be a stressful time, and we’re committed to helping our students maintain a balanced and healthy approach to their studies.
