Indoor Athletics Finals

Congratulations to the Year 8 boys who all performed superbly at the Indoor Athletics Finals on Monday 3rd March, 2025. Usually this event would have been the London Youth Games finals, but unfortunately the LYG have decided to only run finals for Year 7. Instead, Mr Hall, Head of PE at Vyners School kindly offered to host and run the competition. 

At the halfway point, after the running events there were three points separating all three schools; RHS was winning by one point! The competition was extremely high and the boys were in complete disbelief when this was announced. 

As the afternoon events began, the boys continued to perform well. Sidney B achieved a personal best in the 30 second-speed bounce, with a score of 93 jumps! Daniel W also impressed in the standing triple jump, where he placed first with an amazing jump. A student from Ealing Fields, also competing in the event, said: ‘Wow - nobody has ever beaten me in this event before, and you're jumping off the 8m board’. Finally, Luis J was so strong in the shot put, that the officials had to move back the starting point, as Luis kept hitting the wall. 

Overall the boys were fantastic. Sadly we missed team mate Vinnie on the day as he was unable to attend, however he helped the team hugely in reaching these finals.
