A Delicious Trip to Cadbury's World
On Thursday 17th November, Year 10, Year 12 and Year 13 Enterprise and Marketing and Travel and Tourism students participated in a trip to Cadbury’s World in Bournville.
The aim of the visit was for students to experience how a real company's production process works and delivers different services. The trip supported different components, which feature in the two subjects involved in the day, giving students the opportunity to learn in a real world context.
Students attended a talk delivered by the Cadbury staff, tailored to match their curriculum needs. They also completed a tour, seeing for themselves the history of Cadbury and how chocolate is made. A fun feature of the day and a definite highlight for the students was the 4D ‘Chocolate Adventure’ cinema experience. Another memorable moment was when one of our students had the chance to write their name in chocolate.
One of the students who attended the trip, Aahana, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Cadbury’s World. It was a great opportunity to gain an insight into the history and production of Cadbury, a world renowned company appreciated by everyone.”
“It was especially useful to me as a current business studies student to understand the planning and research process and how Cadbury uses market research to create a product. I really enjoyed the fantastic talk, which revealed a few secrets in Cadbury’s unique customer service, from 1941 till now. The whole experience was very engaging.”
Mr Elsby, who attended the trip, said: “After a difficult past few years in terms of being able to take students out on trips, it was lovely to be able to do this again. It was great watching the students enjoying themselves out of the classroom, but also fantastic to watch them learn in a practical environment.”
We are very proud of the students and pleased that they had the opportunity to experience a real company behind the scenes. Thank you to all the staff who supported the day.
