BTEC Sport

The Subsidiary Diploma in Sport is a two year program that is equivalent to an A2 Level if taken in combination with the Level 3 certificate which is completed in Year 12.

The course deals with the scientific themes and concepts of sport and exercise science, and aims to provide studies in sport which are directly related to the changing needs of employers in specific areas of the sport and recreation industry.

Course Content

Year 12 units

 

  • Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport 
  • The Physiology of Fitness
  • Assessing Risk in Sport
  • Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise

Year 13 units

  • Practical Team Sports (or) Practical Individual Sports
  • Sports Nutrition
  • Work Experience in Sport 

Progression

Higher Education courses such as Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Therapy or Sports Management, employment in teaching, coaching and gym instructing in the leisure and fitness industry.
